Property prices reflect the revival: the cheapest fixer-uppers start around 1-3M yen, but renovated properties with ocean views now command 10-30M yen. The investment case is compelling if you buy right, but be warned that the market has already moved significantly — the 500,000-yen Atami bargains of five years ago are largely gone.
